Agriturismo Masseria Castiglione

We saw wild boars from a safe distance on a late afternoon walk, which was a memorable part of staying here. The food was superb and the staff were great. There’s a new road that makes access easier than the comments suggest, though Google Maps doesn’t show it yet, so ask the proprietors for directions. If you’re after somewhere off the beaten track with great meals, this agriturismo is excellent.

I’m glad I didn’t turn back because of the road. It was worth the drive, and they produce everything themselves, so the food felt both healthy and tasty. We stayed one night and had dinner, starting with a platter that came with bruschetta topped with the dried peppers by the entrance. The mixed salad had delicious tomatoes, and the veal steak was unlike meat you’d get from a butcher’s shop. I finished with tiramisu, and the good coffee really came through. Everything was delicious. I was impressed and highly recommend it 😍

We happened to stop in, and dinner was superb. The food had those old-fashioned aromas. Compliments to the owner and the staff.

The view was stunning, and the waiter was quick and friendly. We had lunch here with friends on Ferragosto (August 15th), with a set menu that was excellent and plentiful. The price seemed reasonable for the quality, not excessive at all. Getting to the farmhouse wasn’t easy because of the road. The main problem for us, though, was that dogs aren’t allowed, which is why I couldn’t give it five stars.
