TH San Pellegrino Monzoni Hotel

The location was the one good part of this hotel. Our room was dusty, and the carpet was clearly dirty. Dinner was disappointing every night. We expected good food in Italy, but the children were given plain pasta with no sauce, and we had to ask for it to be sent back so sauce could be added. New Year’s Eve dinner was a disaster too: the beef and foie gras were raw, and most guests left their food untouched. Dessert wasn’t any better, mostly mousse or whipped cream with a little chocolate drizzle. I don’t see why the hotel offers half board when it can’t meet even a basic food standard. It felt like meals were served without much regard for how they tasted or were prepared, and seeing so much food wasted was upsetting. There’s more I could say, but no point really. The stay was frustrating and disappointing from beginning to end. It didn’t feel like the experience you’d expect, especially in Italy. The hotel doesn’t deserve its four-star rating and wasn’t worth the money.

The bartender was good, and the location was great. That’s about all I liked. Dinner was a mess, with waits of over two hours, and the kids’ meals were so strange that the children wouldn’t eat them. One of the ski rooms didn’t have boot dryers. They charge extra for everything, even €30 for the sauna and €3 for water at dinner. Very disappointing.

The staff were kind, the room was clean, and breakfast was amazing. The pool had both cool and warm water, and there was a heated ski room for equipment. The Wi-Fi could be better, and dinner could use simpler choices and larger portions, like pizza, spaghetti ragu, lasagna, hamburgers, or steak. We don’t all eat vegetarian food 😇

The family rooms are big, and there’s a huge free garage. The location is excellent, and overall it’s a great hotel. Dinner is the reason I wouldn’t give it 10/10: it takes two hours to get all three courses, and the organization is very confusing.
