111 - Casa La Secca VISTA MARE, 100metri dalla spiaggia e Mare

We had a deeply disappointing stay at Hotel Leopold in Moneglia and had to leave right away. The apartment looked neglected and was in terrible condition: dirty walls with several cracks, old stained furniture, and nothing like what had been advertised. We couldn't stay and had to find another hotel at very short notice. We'd booked and prepaid through Booking.com, but the hotel denied compensation despite the conditions. As a customer, it seems there's no real right to a refund, since it's entirely up to the hotel to approve one.

Leopold and Leandro were lovely hosts, and we had an amazing time. The hotel has a rustic charm that feels like stepping back in time, right down to the old-fashioned room keys. The place and its owners have a special touch that most modern hotels have lost. The view was amazing too.

We really enjoyed our stay, and the front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Service was excellent, and they were very accommodating when a family tragedy disrupted our schedule. The room lost a star for us because the bathroom was small, though that's by American standards. The hotel is right beside a metro stop and close to Montparnasse tower, which may have one of the best views of Paris, as well as many stores, convenience stores, and restaurants. We'd happily recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Paris. We're glad two other married couples, friends from Bellflower Baptist Church, recommended it to us.

For a fair price, it's actually a nice place if you can look past the cracks. It's got some flaws and definitely isn't for the faint-hearted, but I enjoyed it.
