Christof Hotel

I was very disappointed by how the hotel handled my cancellation. A serious medical condition meant I couldn't travel to Italy, and I sent a doctor's certificate explaining what had happened. I asked Agoda and the hotel directly by email for a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill, not because I thought they were obligated to provide one. I got no empathy or flexibility, and the hotel refused any flexibility or partial refund. I understand that properties set their own cancellation terms, but I believe hospitality should also involve compassion when a guest faces an unexpected health emergency. The policy felt rigid and unfair in these circumstances. I hope the hotel reconsiders its approach to cases like this. Reply (Tue 11, November): Dear Hotel Christof team, Thanks for replying. I want to clarify that I canceled less than two hours after the stated deadline, not several days later as your response seemed to suggest. I didn't travel to Italy at all because of my serious medical condition. The front desk suggested we try dinner after the four of us checked in. The menu hadn't led us to expect much, but the dishes arrived looking almost Michelin-starred. Fresh ingredients, excellent taste, and outstanding service. We'll definitely come back.

The food was just perfect, and I'm hoping they have more chocolate desserts over the next few nights. We also had a great room with a lovely outdoor area for sitting and relaxing. On arrival, the owner was kind, showed us around, and shared tips about things to do.

We stayed two nights in June 2025. The hotel has a cool modern style, and I liked the Christof wordplay used in different parts of the building. It's in a quiet spot near the main road, so there's no 20-minute drive down from the mountain just to get back to the main road. The main drawback for us was parking. There are marked spaces in front and some additional parking beside the building, but I don't think there are enough spaces when the hotel is full. Breakfast's fresh juice machine was a highlight for me. Dinner is a fixed menu with no options. I read that you can change menu items, though we didn't try that. In my personal view, the food focused more on gourmet presentation than amazing taste. Still, very good value for money.
