Camping Fontanelle

We had a great time at this campsite and thought it was excellent value. The site itself was pleasant, everything was spotless, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile. We’d highly recommend it.

The restaurant Malibu beach was absolutely perfect, six stars for them! But our experience with the other staff was poor. At reception they insisted on a €100 cash deposit, saying it was on Booking.com and couldn’t be paid by card, which they claimed was illegal in Italy. When we challenged that and pointed out the deposit wasn’t mentioned anywhere, they agreed to take a card payment and brought out a printed form with the campsite logo specifically for card deposits. At the beach bar, I rested my clean feet on a chair beside our table, and the bartender pulled it out from under them without a word. The other staff seem spoiled by the steady stream of tourists. They need to be replaced.

We’ve been here seven times. The lake is fantastic, and there are lovely villages nearby, plus plenty of good supermarkets and restaurants. The campsite has a small shop, but it’s expensive, for example €2 for a baguette. There’s music at the beach bar all day, though it isn’t too loud, and you can walk farther along the beach if you want to get away from it. It’s a good sized campsite in a very nice location. Some mobile homes are good, while others are old and packed too close together. Evenings and nights are generally quiet at the campsite, but on weekends you can hear music from the restaurant and nearby campsites and bars. It’s a great option for a young family, and there are nice bike routes too.

We had a fantastic holiday here. It’s a smaller but good campsite, well suited to families with younger children. The mobile homes are nice, and there’s a pool area, access to the lakeside, a beach bar, and a restaurant. Greetings from Danmark.
