B&B Villa Giorgia

A really cute place, and we had a great stay. The host was friendly and helpful, and breakfast in the lovely little breakfast room was full of homemade things, like fig jelly and pumpkin cake, plus fresh fruit from the garden. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too. There’s a nice pool in the garden, and we could pick pears from their trees. They were delicious. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

My stay at Villa Giorgia was dreadful. My valuable gold earrings went missing from the room. I had them the night before, so they couldn’t simply have disappeared. The cleaning lady was the only person who entered the room during that time, so I suspect her. When I told management, they seemed completely indifferent and wouldn’t take responsibility. All they said was that there was a safe in the room, which didn’t help after the earrings were gone. Their lack of concern and action felt unacceptable and unprofessional. Anyone staying here should be very careful with valuables, given how little regard management showed for guests’ security and belongings. I won’t return and can’t recommend the place to anyone.

Our stay at villa giorgia was disappointing. We noticed the next day that the earrings we’d brought, which meant a lot to us, were missing, and we reported it to the owner. He helped us call the carabinieri and the cleaning lady, who was the only person to enter the room, but the earrings weren’t found. The owner repeatedly said he couldn’t do anything and that the villa didn’t accept responsibility for items lost or stolen there. I understand he can’t investigate who took them, but we felt he should have accepted some responsibility under article 1783 of the Italian Civil Code. We will not come back to villa giorgia and can’t recommend it to others.

This is the spot if you’re looking to get away from it all. Francesco and his partner are as friendly as hosts get, and they really go out of their way to help. Be sure to rent a car!
