Appartamento Camelia a Castelfalfi

We were looking for a contemporary countryside escape after staying at a more traditional hotel in Florence, so Castelfalfi’s clean, understated design and quality materials suited us well. I’d seen comments that it felt too new, but for us that was a plus. It felt polished and comfortable. The staff made the stay feel easy and relaxed. From valet and reception to concierge and housekeeping, everyone was warm and welcoming without being stiff, and seemed to take real pride in their work. The spa was a highlight. I’d read good things about the RAKxa and booked a Thai massage, one of the best I’ve had. It helped with travel fatigue after a busy few days in Florence and reset my jet lag. My husband isn’t usually into spas, but he loved it too and spent hours each day at the pools and saunas. Breakfast was especially good, with lots of choice, and the Tuscan views made meals a trip highlight. The one thing I’d change is the “village”. It could use more character, perhaps with extra shops, art, or cultural exhibits. We only went once and didn’t feel it added much to the stay. Still, Castelfalfi gave us the peaceful, modern, luxurious and relaxing retreat we wanted.

The people are what make this hotel special, and the team here showed that throughout our stay. Francesca from the concierge deserves a special thank you. She helped promptly and efficiently when I needed help arranging some important things, and made us feel particularly well cared for. Our room stayed spotless and well maintained, and the mattress was excellent. They even provided a pregnancy pillow, which made me much more comfortable and showed real attention to personal needs. The spa is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, and its staff were outstanding. Breakfast had a great selection of fresh, delicious options. The charming little village adds a lot to the experience. We stayed at Castelfalfi for a couple of days, and from the first moment to the last, the staff were thoughtful, considerate, and professional, with every detail handled carefully. A wonderful stay that I’d highly recommend.

I work as a travel agent and have stayed at some of the world’s best hotels. Hotel Castelfalfi definitely belongs in that top league, and I’d happily recommend it and return. We spent three nights there, and everything was excellent: the friendly service, all three restaurants, the rooms, the beautiful spa and pool area, and apéros at the outdoor lounge with its spectacular view. It all felt perfect.

The property is stunning and very large. One morning we hiked a loop of more than 6km through the forest and fields before breakfast. Across the different restaurants, the food was delicious and the service exceptional. Arianna at the front desk deserves a special mention. We’ve just finished a marvelous five-night stay at Castelfalfi. General manager Benjamin put together an exceptional itinerary for our group, with visits to local wineries and estates as well as larger sights, especially Lucca and Siena. We can’t recommend the location enough.
