Hotel Christin

Auer is a quiet village with not many restaurants or bars, but it and the hotel make an excellent base for exploring South Tyrol. The hotel is right by the train station, which worked especially well for us because our guest card covered free public transport, including trains, buses, and cable cars, and we used it a lot. The owner was very friendly and gave us excellent tips. We stayed a few days in the annex, Vera. Our room was bright and clean, and the garden was well kept, with an outdoor pool and beautiful roses. Breakfast in the main building was generous and varied. Each morning our table was already set with a spread of cold cuts, cheese, cakes, fruit salad, jams, bread, cookies, croissants, and plenty more.

This bar deserves a complaint. It’s the second time I’ve stopped in after getting off the train, and I wouldn’t go back even if I were dead. A latte macchiato and croissant cost 5.50 euros, yet most of the products were frozen and not even artisanal. There were even Eurospin products. I’ve nothing against the food chain, but at those prices the quality should be better. Paying a fair amount is fine, but being ripped off like that isn’t.

A nice spot to kill time while you’re waiting for the train. The three women working and serving behind the bar are really friendly :)

The rooms are lovely and spacious, and breakfast is plentiful with everything you might need. Mrs. Christina is very kind and always available, thank you for everything, and see you soon. It’s a great location if you’re taking the train to visit the Christmas markets, and the Alto Adige Guest Pass from the hotel is very convenient.
