The garden, with all its space and greenery, gave us that real Tuscan feeling, and it was perfect for our dog. We enjoyed evening walks through the woods, and sometimes had the pool to ourselves while the other guests were out sightseeing. Podere La Monache was cool and comfortable, with everything we needed, and the pool was fantastic and nice and deep. Pisa, Siena, and Florence are all within an hour's drive. A perfect holiday with our adult children and dog!

Diane was an outstanding host and made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a spacious three-bedroom suite with breathtaking views, plus plenty of relaxing spots and a pool the kids absolutely loved. There are several restaurants nearby, and the one next to the hotel was exceptional. The location worked really well for us, about an hour from Pisa and Florence and 30 minutes from San Gimignano and Volterra. A wonderful place to unwind in Tuscany.

Cinzia and Andrea, the managers, are fabulous, friendly, efficient, and always helpful. In good weather, it's lovely to spend time lounging by the pool and taking in the Italian countryside. Podere le Monache sits among olive trees and looks out over a rose garden. The little village of Iano has a shop, two restaurants, and a church. We've stayed here twice and hope to bring our grandson next time.

The terraces look out over Tuscany and the owner's garden, and the garden itself is lovely to wander through, with figs, pomegranates, herbs, blooming agaves, and roses. There's lots of room to stroll around. The apartment has a distinct atmosphere and classic Tuscan style, and the place was spotlessly clean with very friendly service. Air conditioning was available for an extra charge based on electricity use shown on the meter. The wonderful pool goes to over two meters at its deepest, and there are sun loungers and a gazebo for proper downtime. Iano is charming too. There's a restaurant with a delicious menu and a small shop, which is open when a black car is parked by the church. The locals are kind and genuine. Highly recommended for discovering the charms of Tuscany.
