The host was extraordinary, and don’t miss the tasting. We stayed a few nights in early July 2023; it really feels like a place that captures the area. The rooms are spacious, and the dining area and kitchen are very well equipped. There were lots of mosquitoes in the apartment, and I don’t think repellents were being used. We also couldn’t find anywhere to put rubbish, not even a bin by the pool. We had to carry it to the property entrance, over a kilometer away.

I wouldn’t recommend coming here to my friends. When we arrived in October it was cold and raining, and I asked Matteo to turn on the heat. He said local rules made it impossible to turn it on that month, but I looked it up and found that wasn’t true. I caught a cold, and the rest of my Italy trip was ruined. At checkout he said the card system wasn’t working and demanded cash. I don’t care if he avoids taxes, but paying cash used up my reserves and made it hard to buy anything else. This business feels run too cheaply, like all he cares about is getting your money.

A lovely spot in Val d’Orcia. Matteo’s gesture was amazing, and he was so friendly that we felt very welcome. A unique place to visit.

The apartment and swimming pool made for an amazing experience. The gentleman running the place was kind and ready to help with anything. I’ll definitely come back, and grazie for the Montalcino rosso!
