The owner’s response to this and other negative reviews says a lot about the restaurant. It came across as far from gentlemanly and showed, to me, little understanding of hospitality. My girlfriend and I got food poisoning after eating here, most likely from the tiramisu. The prices are also really high for what you get, and there’s better value elsewhere in the region. The area itself is amazing, with plenty of great places run by welcoming, hospitable people. I’d avoid this establishment.

We loved the food, which was better than what we found around the area, and the slightly higher prices felt worth it for the quality. The views from the back terrace are great, especially at sunset. We’ll definitely come back!

The best meal we had during our month in Tuscany. We’ve been back to Massimo’s La Locanda del Castello several times over the last ten years, and this visit was just as memorable. The Bistecca Fiorentina was beautifully cooked and presented, the stuffed squash blossoms were perfect, and the beef tartar came with truffle shavings. We also had a fresh Greek style salad and more, alongside a lovely light midday Montalchino Rosso. Highly recommended.

The welcome was warm and the food was delicious. I’d happily return if I’m in the area again. Try it, you won’t see this many truffles on one plate elsewhere. The owner cooks like he’s making the meal for himself.

We stumbled on this restaurant by chance, and it turned out to be such a lucky find. The atmosphere was lovely, the service charming and attentive, and the food absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t recommend it more. In fact, we’re going back for dinner tonight!
