Last October, my daughter and I stayed at this lovely castle and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed taking day trips to Siena and Pienza, and the food was delicious. We'd highly recommend Castello di Gargonza for a stay in Italy's beautiful countryside.

Neri and his family gave us a perfect welcome. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and it's become one of my favorite places to visit anywhere in the world.

We came to the Castello just for a restaurant meal, not to stay overnight. Service was friendly, though a bit slow even by Italian standards. The food was delicious: we especially liked the mixed bruschetta and T-bone steak, but the quail risotto was the star. After we complimented the chef on it, the count, whose family has owned the Castello for a while, brought us another portion. There was a very good wine selection, and our whole group had a fantastic time. Make sure to walk up to the castle too and enjoy the views.

This was one of the highlights of our Tuscany visit years ago. We had wonderful service and food, and the rooms had a period feel while still being very comfortable. The lovely views from the pool, surrounded by a beautiful lawn, have stayed with me.
