The staff were generally friendly and pleasant, and the food was presented better during the second half of the week. But the hotel fell a little short of being really good. Getting help with check-in was difficult, and I was placed in a different building from my friend. My bathroom had no central light; reception told me to ask the cleaning lady, who only pointed out the mirror light. Since we arrived in the dark, I hadn't been able to see it the first night. I might have spent more at the bar if I'd been shown a wine list on the first evening. I also rarely stay somewhere that doesn't provide a small bottle of water each day. Stevie

We stayed on half board and were very pleased with the quality and choice of food. It focused on Tuscan cuisine, and the staff were happy to explain the menu. Our clean room was well looked after by friendly staff. The hotel is close to the old spa and park, and only a short walk from the main part of Montecatini-Terme. The new spa was quiet and relaxing, well worth a visit. The pool wasn't heated when we were there, but it was usable; some tiles at the bottom needed replacing, probably during the closed season. All in all, a great stay at a very nice hotel.

We had a peaceful, enjoyable two weeks on half board. Our room was in the Villa, not the hotel, and though dated it was very clean, with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. There was a lounge area in the Villa. We brought a travel kettle and coffee sachets because the room doesn't come with one. The safe key deposit was €20 and was refunded when we returned it. The hotel is just off Via Verde, handy for Terme Tettuccio and the Funicular to Alto. The two railway stations are a 10-15 minute walk away, with trains to Florence, Pistoia, Lucca, and Pisa. For coffee, wine, pastries, or lunch, try 54 Via Verde. Montecatini has a lot of closed hotels and spas, though the town still has an upmarket feel.

This was our second visit, and my husband and I would happily come back. The team are friendly, professional, and very helpful. The hotel sits in a central spot, with a lovely garden and outdoor seating where we enjoyed the delicious restaurant food. We think it's a very special place.

The location is convenient, with easy access to the main town centre. We had a very comfortable bed, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and linen. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the service was excellent.
