La Casa Dei Fiori

The owner made our one-night stay at "La Casa Dei Fiori" really enjoyable. She was warm, quick to help, and gave clear directions. We slept well on the comfortable beds. The private bathroom was the one drawback: it was outside the room, off the landing, though she said she was working on fixing that. Breakfast was a generous buffet, and we enjoyed hearing her talk about the history of Montecilfone. I'd recommend it.

We stopped here as a family of four on the way to Puglia, and the B&B suited us well. The hostess was very friendly. Our quadruple room was on the first floor and had an external bathroom, as we'd been told beforehand. Breakfast hit the spot, with fresh croissants and both hot and cold drinks. "Il Riccio" is a good restaurant option about a ten-minute drive away.

Right in the center of Montecilfone, Casa dei Fiori has a warm, homey feel. The service, cleanliness, furnishings, and small details are all carefully looked after. They also offer tours around the area, with a focus on its history and nature. Montecilfone itself is a lovely small village in Molise, surrounded by unspoiled countryside and a good choice for anyone after history, traditions, local routes, or a bit of rest.

We paid €60 for the night, plus €4 for optional air conditioning. For a B&B half an hour from Termoli along a winding road, I wouldn't call that especially cheap. The sheets weren't white and felt poor quality, and the pillowcase was torn. I suspect it was left that way because of the dog, though I can't be sure. We came with our Jack Russell, and this place isn't a good fit for people traveling with pets. Allowing animals should mean accepting their presence, rather than just using it to attract guests. Our dog got out of the car, crossed the street, and came inside when we arrived. The owner complained that he had made a mess at the entrance. He couldn't go on the bed or into the breakfast room, so my wife and I skipped breakfast rather than leave him alone in the room. If the owner doesn't like dogs or doesn't want them at the property, she should change the listing to "NO PETS ALLOWED." About the owner's reply: I didn't insult her, share personal information, or challenge her honesty. I only said I felt uncomfortable, because accepting pets should mean accepting them in every way. I still don't recommend this place to pet owners. I paid by bank transfer because she didn't have a POS terminal. She never asked me to send proof of payment, or I would have. She learned my profession because she asked me. It's also not true that she offered us breakfast on the terrace. Other guests were already using it. I NEVER said, "YOU TRADERS ARE ALL THE SAME." What I did say was, "YOU TRADERS HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF ELECTRICITY PRICE RISK BY RAISING PRICES, BUT HOW DOES AN EMPLOYEE WHO ALWAYS EARNS THE SAME SALARY?" She replied that her husband is a laborer and in a worse position, and I repeated my point. Finally, she didn't just clean "your dog's paws". She grumbled that it was different, which already shows her dismissive tone. I'm not an animal lover either. Given the offensive and suggestive way she replied, I'll consider taking legal action for defamation.
