La Fenice

We were seven in the apartment, and there was plenty of room. It was clean, had a lovely view over Lake Bolsena, and came with everything we needed to make breakfast and cook. The owner welcomed us warmly.

Luciana made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. She’s so kind, affectionate, friendly, and always ready to help, and her homemade breakfast treats were delicious. We spent four days here with friends and our poodles. The house is cute, spacious, spotless, and looks out over a stunning lake view. We’d happily come back to La Fenice if we’re in the area again. Highly recommended!

The view of Lake Bolsena was beautiful, and the apartment itself was large. The owner greeted us very kindly and brought us a delicious tart. The general upkeep was good, but the cleaning under the furniture, especially in the kitchen, could have been better. We also hadn’t been told there were Italian scorpions in the area. They aren’t lethal, but they can be scary, especially if you’ve never seen one up close.

Montefiascone made a handy base for visiting Bolsena, Civita di Bagnoregio, Bomarzio, Spoleto, Viterbo, Orvieto, and even the farther Umbrian towns of Assisi and Cascia. We were five people with our four-legged friends, staying for a weekend in the lovely Viterbo area. Luciana welcomed us with a smile into a clean, comfortable apartment overlooking the lake. The covered terrace was great for dinner, and it has a barbecue. Our hostess had made two delicious cakes and provided everything we needed for a healthy breakfast. I’d recommend it to families or groups of friends for a holiday base or a relaxing weekend. We hope to return, and send Luciana a big hug!
