Tenuta Montemagno

I spent several days photographing a wedding at this winery, where they make their own wine, have rooms and run a great restaurant. It’s a lovely place in the sunset light, and we had different activities over the wedding days. For the main celebration, we set up a DJ stage and decorated parts of the venue. We even planted some grapes in the vineyards. A saxophonist played during Aperol hour, which was a nice touch. There were other guests around who weren’t part of our crew, but I think everyone had a good time. The restaurant handled the wedding dishes while still serving its own guests and accommodating different groups. As a wedding photographer, I’m always looking for good locations, and this one didn’t disappoint. I’d recommend checking it out for a wedding or another event.

A gorgeous weekend away. The hotel feels cozy and family-run. We had dinner there one night, and the wine pairing recommendations were good.

The garden, spa, food and wine were all 10/10 for me. The staff were incredible and really attentive. A special mention to Valter, the massage therapist, the restaurant manager, the young woman at the outside bar and the hotel manager. I absolutely loved the place, and we’ll be back.

The rooms are beautiful, though a few felt a bit cramped. We’ll return next year. Monferrato’s hills in Piemonte make a gorgeous setting, and dining and drinks on the veranda came with personalized service and often music. Their wines are really nice, especially the Rosso Monferrato, which is a real bargain too.
