We ended up staying four nights instead of the two we’d planned, and it was the best honeymoon ever. The landscape was all green and beautiful, just what you’d expect from Toscana, right outside the door. The place has a lovely simple style and facilities that gave it a true Toscana feel. The host family were so kind, easy to reach, and always ready to help. The beautiful town montepulciano is close by too. We’d read comments about room temperature, weak WiFi, and mattress quality before arriving in March. The room was well heated. The WiFi really was weak and only worked from one particular spot in the room. The mattress was soft, and that made the bed feel pretty shaky. This place may not suit everyone. It’s probably better for people who love nature and culture and don’t mind roosters waking them at 4 am, since it is the countryside after all. Even with those drawbacks, the resort itself was incredible and the scenery was heart-opening.

We came to experience a little of the Tuscan countryside, and had a few blissful days in this spacious farmhouse with two bedrooms. It sits among acres of vineyards, olive groves, and farmland. In late autumn, after the last harvest, the vineyards were bare, with rolling fields and silvery olive trees across the landscape. The quiet rural setting captures the Tuscan way of life. Back in June 2015, we had the two-apartment building to ourselves, and could enjoy the grounds in complete privacy. Sitting outside for breakfast with that incredible view across the Tuscan countryside was such a pleasure. The girls had brought us freshly picked cherries the day before, which made it even nicer. The accommodation was basic but clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. A memorable stay.
