It’s got what you need. That’s about it.

The central location was the only thing I liked. The hotel calls itself old, and it certainly is. The bathroom was tiny and cold, with a two-jet shower practically over the toilet, separated by a plastic curtain. During a cold spell, we came back in the afternoon hoping for a nap and found the room cold, with the heating off. Parking is a matter of luck, since it’s just a short stretch of road beside the hotel. Early in the morning there was also a constant stink of cigarette smoke.

It has a bit of an old-time feel, and the location is perfect. Even though it’s right in the center, we could park under the bedroom window. The owner was helpful and attentive to what her guests needed. The only comfort issue was the walk-in shower, which we’re no longer used to. Given the setting, though, I suppose it couldn’t be otherwise. We’ll definitely come back during the Christmas markets.

We had a great time here, and the housekeeping was excellent. Elena was kind, attentive, and really accommodating to our needs. For a hotel right in the heart of Montepulciano, it’s excellent value for money and in an excellent location.
