La Spiaggia

The room stayed wonderfully cool in July thanks to air conditioning that worked consistently. In another hotel we had stayed at in Rome, the room barely cooled some nights, so this was a big plus for me. The bathroom was spotless, fresh towels were provided, and the hot water worked perfectly. The shower only fits one person at a time. Our first-floor room was a comfortable size, with two large windows. One opened onto arches and a spacious covered balcony with a beautiful view. You had to go through the door beside the bed and step to the right to reach the long balcony and see the street, so we didn't hear street noise from bed. Judging by the façade, I think only two rooms have this kind of balcony, and we felt lucky to get one. The hotel faces the ocean, sits on the main street, and is less than a five-minute walk from the station. I'd absolutely stay again.

Small rooms, but the location more than makes up for it. The beach is right on the doorstep, and bars and restaurants are easy to get to. It's a 10-minute stroll to the village. Our room had a mini fridge, air conditioning, and plenty of storage. Breakfast was good.

I had a great time in Monterosso. The location gets a 10 out of 10, breakfast was amazing, and the staff were attentive and top notch. There was a balcony where I could relax or work, and the WiFi had no issues. The bed was uncomfortable, but everything else was so good it made up for it.

Breakfast was comparable to what we've had at other good hotels in Italy, and the staff seemed keen to help us have a good time. The room, though, was very small, and there was nowhere to put things in the bathroom, so, sorry ladies, your stuff has to go on the floor. There's no toilet paper holder either, so the roll sat on the bidet. I'm not a big guy, but in that shower, don't drop the soap if you expect to bend down and pick it up. The bed was too hard for my wife. Also, no ice at the hotel, so forget having cocktails on the balcony.
