The room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, with beautiful views all around. Coming from California, I was welcomed so warmly by Stefano and his wife Maria. What a wonderful area and family. Getting a little slice of life on the farm was amazing. If I ever head to Italy, I'm booking with Stefano.

I stayed in the small pink house, so this review is only about that place. The olive garden and the beautiful area full of olive gardens were a positive. But the photos gave me the impression it was a separate house, when it's actually a kind of twin, with other guests on the other side of a wall thin enough that you can really hear them. Also, the upper floor shown in the pictures wasn't available to us. The owner said only children could use it and adults couldn't go in. That was disappointing because I'd trusted the photos and planned to use the space as an office while teleworking. It also made me wonder about the quality if it can only hold children. The internet was a joke, constantly lagging or not working. The TV needed internet, so it was basically nonexistent. I tried loading an Amazon movie, but of course that didn't work either because the connection was so bad. The owner was peculiar. In theory, he was available whenever I texted, but I didn't feel looked after and had to message him so many times. He'd forgotten to turn on the gas stove. He restarted the internet for us from time to time, but it didn't help. The AC was broken when we arrived, and we spent two nights in the heat before he replaced it. Apparently some snails had got inside the AC, which can happen, I know, but I don't understand why he hadn't checked that everything worked before guests arrived. It is his business, after all.

It's close enough to the coast to enjoy the sea, while the beautiful hills offer great walks, a quiet Italian night sky, and cool winds. The family hosts are lovely and welcoming, and the location is great. It felt like a real, authentic experience for my wife, our two boys, and me. Ask Stefano about the history of his olive trees. He may even offer you a taste of the oil! We will ritorno!

From the patio of your apartment, you can watch the sunset over the Thyrren Sea. The countryside is marvellous, and we loved our spring vacation here. The apartments are spotlessly clean and well kept down to every detail. It's by far the best location to stay in Montescudaio if you want a quiet place in the heart of Tuscany with amazing beaches within reach.
