Sweet Stay Home

We stayed in October 2023. The owner was quick to respond and helped us a lot while we were preparing for the visit. The room was small, but very clean and still comfortable for us. It’s close to the Vatican, and the metro station is about a 10-minute walk away. From Termini, where buses from both airports arrive, it takes roughly 30 minutes to get here.

My family, my parents and I, spent two nights here during our Rome trip. The room was very clean and, by Italian standards, quite spacious. There are lots of shops and street food nearby, and the area stays lively, so we didn’t have to worry about finding something to eat at night. The location is great: about a 5-minute walk to the Vatican Museum, around 8 minutes on foot to the nearest metro, and a bus ride of roughly 10 minutes including the walk to St. Peter’s Plaza. Simona, the person we spoke with, was especially helpful and made our stay a great one. A morning visit to Mercato Trionfale, or Trionfale Market, was a unique experience for us. I don’t usually review hotels, but this B&B deserves five stars from me.

We stayed as a family of three, and the room was clean, big, and comfortable. It has its own toilet, fridge, beds, and table. My only suggestion would be to add another seat or a bigger table for eating in. The apartment is one floor up, with a lift or very wide stairs. Everything else was fine. The layout gave us a good sense of privacy. A large security door leads into the building, then you go up to the apartment, where a communal area connects the three rooms. You need a code for the apartment and a key for your room. We never saw or heard the other guests, and always felt safe. Our host Lulu communicated clearly and was helpful, even though we never met in person. We received the entry instructions in the morning before arriving, and someone was there to help us get into the building and apartment. The location is hard to beat. It’s a 2-minute walk, about one and a half blocks, to the entrance of Museo Vatican, which leads to the museum and Sistine chapel. St Peter’s Basilica has a different entrance, about a 3-5 minute walk away. You can see the Vatican as soon as you leave the Sweet Stay Rome building. There are plenty of restaurants, pharmacies, and gelato close by. We also walked to Trevi fountains, Pantheon, and Spanish steps one day. It took around 20-30 minutes, with nice scenery along the way.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was cozy, cute, and clean. Musei Vaticani is just a 2-minute walk away. It was a sweet stay, and such a pleasure to visit this beautiful city.
