Fantastic.

The location is great, but the state of the place was a real letdown. It felt very bucolic, with old, shabby furnishings, and the cleanliness was the biggest issue by far. The host was more or less a ghost. We never saw him, and everything was handled by text. We only realized how bad things were once it was too late to find somewhere else, despite trying, so we had to arrange the cleaning ourselves for the two nights we needed. I’d already paid in advance. At checkout I sent the host photos of the problems by text. Instead of apologizing, he threw his B&B reviews in our faces. I paid €70 a night for a wobbly toilet, old and broken furniture, dirty, stained sheets, mattresses and pillows, and a broken front door that wouldn’t lock from inside. There was dust and dirt everywhere, all documented with photos. This felt like a dump, not a B&B.

The apartment was pleasantly spacious, with a living room and kitchenette, and it was clean when I arrived. I booked through Booking.com because of a nearby work job, and the price was genuinely convenient. We handled the keys and document registration by phone, which seemed fair given the situation at the time. The bedroom had a double bed and a single one, but the single was a folding camp bed that didn’t seem suitable for an adult. My back wasn’t happy with it. The temperature also felt a bit too cool for me and my colleague, so it might suit summer better. The outlet by the bed didn’t work, and I had to unplug the dresser light to use it. For three nights, one shower towel and one face towel each weren’t enough, and there wasn’t even a bidet towel. The run-down bathroom did have used cellulite creams, perfumes and assorted soaps, which didn’t seem in keeping with Covid rules. Definitely needs attention.

There’s free street parking, which is handy. Still, I didn’t feel at ease in the accommodation. The decor and furniture were very worn and dated, and the pieces didn’t really go together.
