Villa Le Calvane

This was a terrible stay. When clear problems came up, they were ignored or met with unacceptable excuses instead of being fixed. The staff seemed indifferent and unprofessional, and management felt completely disengaged. I felt they were trying to take financial advantage of guests at every opportunity. It seemed like their only goal was to get as much money as possible, with no care for the quality of the stay. I expect at least basic hospitality from a hotel, but here I felt only disrespect and greed. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. There are better options where guests are treated with care and respect.

The onsite wine tasting was great, and Florence is only a 30-40 minute drive away. We’d love to stay again. The views, property, and rooms were all wonderful, and the onsite staff especially helped make it a perfect experience. Not one complaint.

The countryside setting was exactly the picture of Tuscany we had in mind, about a 30-minute drive from Florence. We stayed two nights in early October, and the whole visit was amazing. The rooms were spacious and lovely, with cleaning and turndown service among the best we've had anywhere. There’s a beautiful pool, a gym, and wonderful food. Breakfast was included and exceptional, and dinner was just as good. The staff were kind, helpful, and truly exemplary. We’re already planning another trip. I’d give the hotel more than five stars if I could.

The restaurant meals were so good that after travelling around Italy, we realised how much we missed them. Leo’s wine and oil tasting was unreal, and we didn’t feel like we needed to go anywhere else. The rooms had incredible valley views and amazing sunsets. It’s easy to reach major and smaller cities, and it took me a while to find this place while researching areas. The atmosphere is incredible, and the staff are clearly happy to be there. They’re warm, chatty, remember you and your kids, and help with whatever you need. We’d return in a heartbeat. It’s my favourite place I’ve stayed in Europe. One thing, bring the strongest bug repellent you can. The mosquitoes, bees, and wasps were intense.
