Palazzo Novello

The room and location were lovely, and the staff deserve extra praise, especially Sara, who was super friendly and welcoming. I felt right at home. A great stay.

We only booked one night and ended up wishing we'd stayed longer. Palazzo Novello feels like a small palace, with a building, atmosphere and details that have far more character than a standard 3-star hotel. It's well cared for, peaceful and full of charm. Our room was spacious, elegant, clean and comfortable, with a big bed and generous bathroom. It doesn't have all the amenities of a 5-star place, such as bathrobes or deluxe toiletries, but it was practical and beautifully presented. Breakfast was enjoyable and had plenty of variety, though there weren't many hot options. Free private parking on-site was a real plus, and the entry and check-in codes worked smoothly even in this historic building. And yes, free parking inside! The woman at reception was incredibly helpful, taking time to map out a suggested route around Lake Garda and recommend restaurants. It's about a 15-minute drive from Desenzano del Garda or Sirmione, and the short drive is worth it. Highly recommended, not just for the price, but because it's a special place.

The restored old palace is in a good spot outside Brescia, with easy access to the nearby city and lago di Garda. The staff were friendly, and it's an ideal quiet place at night. One thing to check before you arrive is your room allocation: there is NO lift, so you may have to carry your luggage up 2 1/2 floors. It's self-service after 20:30. I don't think the A/C is enough for rooms with high ceilings.

I've never stayed in this kind of hotel before. It feels like a little castle, blending old-world charm and modern comfort, with many original features still there. The rooms are huge, with romantic beds and hanging curtains. Breakfast is simple but satisfying, and the staff are very friendly. The lake isn't very close, but it's only a 20-minute drive if you have a car. I'd love to return, ideally in spring or summer!
