We stayed nearly ten days in this peaceful holiday home, away from traffic, noise, and industry. Antonello gave us a very warm welcome and suggested lots of worthwhile places around Travale and elsewhere in Tuscany. On our first evening we took his advice and drove to Montieri for dinner, and it was fantastic. We had the old farmhouse with two apartments on separate floors. It worked really well for our family of four, with children aged 15 and 4. Our older child had plenty of room downstairs, while we and the younger one stayed upstairs, where the two bedrooms meant everyone could sleep well. The kids loved the pool, which Antonello and Luisa clean every day. Wi-Fi was important for our big family and worked fine for browsing and streaming films. The access track is a bit of an adventure, and we’d have liked a kettle and a few more kitchen utensils, but we managed with a little improvising. I worried at first about no air conditioning, but the thick walls and airing out the apartment morning and evening kept it comfortable even in midsummer. The view is lovely, with little towns and houses scattered across the distant mountains, and it’s green all around. This is a wonderful place to relax if you’re after a peaceful atmosphere rather than a five-star hotel. Thanks again to Antonello and Luisa for the holiday, and special thanks to Francesco, Antonello's son, for making our evening with his homemade food. We’d love to come back.

The track in is rough gravel, so getting there takes some care, but even our small Renault Clio managed it. Once there, the quiet setting away from the main roads and the pool with its incredible mountain view made the stay especially enjoyable. Antonello was always available, clearly loves the region, and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit. A great base for a few days in the Tuscan countryside. If we return to Tuscany, we’ll stay in Travale again. Thanks, Antonello! Bastien, Lucie & Valentin

I’ve been spending summers at Agriturismo Prati di Travale for over ten years and leave every time completely satisfied, so I wanted to offer a detailed, balanced view after a recent review described this place negatively. Antonello and his son Francesco run it, and they’re both warm and helpful. The property sits among the Tuscan hills between Siena and Florence. You need a car or another way to get around, both to reach it easily and to explore. If you want to walk to a bakery for morning rolls, a holiday resort may suit you better. But if you like a secluded place surrounded by nature and want to avoid the tourist crowds, this is ideal. There are several apartments in different sizes, with what you need for a relaxing holiday. I cook most evenings here each year, and as an experienced cook I’ve never found the kitchen equipment lacking. The pool is another highlight, perched on a small rise with views over the valley and nearby village of Travale. I can spend whole days reading, sleeping, or gazing at the Tuscan scenery. In the early evening, the sun slips behind the big oak at the far end of the pool as swallows skim the blue water hunting mosquitoes for the night. Antonello or Francesco thoroughly clean the pool every morning, so either one would spot any damage the next day. Things do sometimes get broken, and over the years I’ve broken a parasol and dropped a cup or two. Antonello has always been understanding. I do think a respectful, grown-up guest should report damage they’ve caused and take responsibility for it.

We got to see Rome, Florence, and Pisa during our summer stay. The rental was extremely well organized, with a fantastic pool, and Antonello was always available with guidance and advice. Thank you, Antonello, for the warm welcome and such a peaceful, wonderful holiday in the heart of Tuscany. Patrick, Christelle, Leny. 🙂👍👍👍

The panoramic pool is stunning, and the four small apartments are thoughtfully finished and equipped with every comfort. It’s a farmhouse surrounded by nature, where peace and quiet prevail. Antonello and his family are attentive, welcoming hosts. I hope I can return.
