The restaurant was a real surprise, with meals made from produce grown on the property. There isn’t a set menu, but tell the waiter what you need and they’ll make you something you’ll love. I’m vegan, and Francesco suggested different lunch and dinner options each day while Giovanna happily prepared fresh dishes for me. The conserves and nut butters from the farm shop were so good we bought jars of everything: quince, strawberry, mulberry, goji berry, apricot and orange, plus pistachio, hazelnut and almond creams. The bottled juices were like liquid jam, especially the Sicilian orange and apricot nectar. The farmstay is right by the entrance to Alcantara Gorge, and the San Cataldo agriturismo trail is only 1 km away. We stayed a couple of nights with the family, though I wish we’d planned for at least a week. It’s so peaceful among the mountains, streams and fresh air, and the campers give the place a friendly community feel. I can’t wait to return to Sicily and stay much longer. We pulled in with our campervan and found a green, welcoming spot. The pitches are comfortable and have their own water and electricity, and the bathrooms were impressively clean. We tried the local goods in the little shop and bought juice and jam. Dinner was generous and delicious, with local dishes. The owners were so kind. We’d happily recommend the place and will definitely come back.

It’s peaceful here, just a short walk from the gorges, and the restaurant is good and inexpensive. The camper area has the amenities you need, including water and electricity at each pitch, and the price feels fair for this area. There isn’t much shade, though evenings are pleasantly cool. The staff are friendly and helpful. The main downsides are bathrooms that feel dated and aren’t well maintained, plus a few small bins where rubbish isn’t separated.
