Motta Residence

The hotel is secure, nicely landscaped, and well lit, with clean, very comfortable beds. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped. Front desk staff were very friendly, and there's a pleasant breakfast table in the lobby each morning, with seating in both the lobby and outdoor patio. Several shops, cafes, and restaurants are within walking distance, and it's conveniently close to Sigonella. Prices are reasonable, too. We'd be happy to stay again when we're in the area.

We stumbled on the Motta Residence at the last minute and were pleasantly surprised. It isn't high class, but it had everything we needed. The rooms were clean, and the staff were especially kind and available. Breakfast was basic but enough, and having secure car parking was a big plus. Five stars for convenience and value for money. Motta was a great base for day trips to Taormina, Aci Trezza, Siracusa, and Noto. We were glad we hadn't stayed in central Catania, which felt too busy and difficult to get around. The rooms are generously sized and comfortable, and four of us never felt cramped. The balconies are enormous and have nice views, plus the big third floor patio looks south and west and gives you a lovely sunset view. The owner, Sr. Motta, is a wonderful, kind man who gives his time generously and hires friendly, caring staff. Filippo was managing when we were there, and he was so nice. We enjoyed every interaction with the rest of the staff as well. It may not be what you'd call a five star hotel, but the experience felt five star.
