*disclaimer* I haven’t stayed at this hotel. Months before the reservation, they charged my card, saying by email it was a “deposit test” that would be refunded. They did eventually refund that amount, but I got no notice or invoice for the charge. Then I canceled within the free cancellation period and was charged €80. It’s been 2 weeks since I noticed, and despite contacting the hotel multiple times, I still haven’t received a refund. I only caught these charges by checking my card bill carefully, so be cautious when booking. It seems like a sneaky way for the hotel to make extra money.

We picked this hotel as a treat for my dad’s 50th birthday, so it’s upsetting that we’ve spent our two-night stay uncomfortable in the room instead of celebrating. It was an expensive booking for us, and the online photos and reviews don’t match the facilities’ current condition. There seemed to be hardly anyone at the hotel when we arrived, though we didn’t think much of the quiet at the time of year. The room had damage and stains on nearly every wall. The door panels were damaged too, and cleanliness was well below standard. The bathroom was especially bad. The shower holder was cracked and barely fixed in place, so you have to hold it to use the shower. The shower head is damaged and sprays unevenly, and there’s mold throughout the shower. The basin has several cracks, the floor tiles are grimy with dust and stains, and even the toilet brush was in an unacceptable condition. A light was right at head level beside the smaller bed. We moved it to avoid getting hurt, and found a large hole in the wall behind it. We told the manager about the problems and asked to change rooms. They said none were available, even though the hotel looked mostly empty, and that maintenance would check tomorrow. We’re only here for two nights, so that doesn’t help much.

Breakfast was delicious every day, and everyone at the hotel treated my family so kindly. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I don’t want to single anyone out because they were all so nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. They even suggested places to eat and things to see nearby. We stayed here to visit Como, Milan and the towns around them. Having a car was handy because parking is free, and breakfast was very good with plenty of choices.

The hotel was lovely, with a clean, good-sized room, and breakfast was included. Great value for money. It’s a little further out from Milan, but the train service is excellent.
