Grand Hotel Wolkenstein

I was hiking one summer evening and ran out of water on the way down. Around 11 p.m., I stopped at the hotel to ask if I could buy a bottle or refill my own. All the nearby shops were closed, so finding water was very difficult. I was dressed normally and looked presentable, not dirty, but the receptionist told me to leave right away, without courtesy or any attempt to help. I ended up spending that night at another hotel of a similar standard, where the staff were polite and helpful. Being treated that way when asking for help makes me question the service guests can expect here.

I was moved here from another hotel because of plumbing problems, and it turned out well. The staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and very nice, with a huge TV and a comfortable bed. The pool and spa were great: eight saunas, three spas, an indoor steam room, and a heated outdoor pool. The food was very good, and I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner each night. Let them know in advance if you’re vegetarian or need dietary changes. Parking and bike storage are on site. Downtown is about a five-minute walk, while Salva is around 40 minutes on foot. The hotel offers bus passes, which I didn’t use, and also rents e-bikes.

The wellness center, saunas, and hot tubs were just what we needed after long hiking days. Breakfast was included and good, especially for northern Italy, and the staff were very friendly. This was our favorite hotel in the Dolomites. Thanks!

We had a fantastic stay with our group of friends, and the hotel surpassed what we expected. The food was creative, full of flavor, and different every day. We especially enjoyed the spa, from the outdoor hot tubs to the wide range of saunas. Our rooms were modern, spotless, and very cozy. It’s now our favorite place to stay in Selva, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.
