We arrived by bike and getting there was easy. They can also provide a place to store the bikes. The room was quiet, clean, and just right for two, and the staff were incredibly kind. Staying at Hotel Sole felt really pleasant, almost like being at home. I love finding friendly, cool places like this.

Mirella and Roberto make you feel like part of the family, and Mirella's warm welcome and efficiency helped make the stay pleasant. The rooms are simple and intimate, with the basics guests need. Meals outside overlooking the sea are a daily treat, and the saltwater pool with its sea view is something to try, spritz in hand. The restaurant is a different story from home-style cooking. Get ready for refined, sophisticated fish dishes made with the local market's catch, including crudo and creative specialties from Chef Roberto. The hotel itself is cozy and right by the sea in Muggia, on the border with Slovenija, making it a strategic base for day trips to Croatia, Trieste, or even Venice. A unique hospitality experience I'd happily repeat.

The owner was unfriendly and argued with me and my other three guests, while showing no concern for customer hospitality and doing as he pleased. The toilets and bathroom were in really poor shape. The facilities were very small, and shelves and bathroom doors were broken.

Muggia has a real Mediterranean feel, a gem near industrialized Trieste. The closest beaches aren't the best on the Adriatic, but you can find nicer ones with a 15-20 minute drive. It's a quiet place with friendly owners, good meals, clean rooms, and a nice balcony, ideal for anyone wanting a restful break away from crowds and hype. I recommend it if peace and quiet are what you want on holiday.
