Il Piccolo Golf

A few restaurants are an easy walk away, and the neighborhood stays quiet in the evening, though traffic gets going early. The location is excellent, and the room was clean. Just note that it’s on the first floor with no elevator. Street parking is available, and breakfast could be better.

The rooms are reasonably spacious, but there’s no bathroom in them, and the refrigerator is out in a hallway shared with other guests. We had booked through Booking.com months ahead. I don’t recall giving the owner an estimated arrival time, and the site listed check-in from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, not by appointment. I wasn’t expecting to get into the room early, only to leave our bags. We couldn’t do that, so our luggage stayed in the car while we were on the way to Milan. If the owner can’t offer luggage storage, the website should say so and give accurate check-in information. I can’t give this place a very positive review.

The coffee machine was amazing, and the Sunday morning pastries were delicious, served hot. The bathrooms were perfectly clean, the sheets and towels spotless, and the host friendly. It had everything we needed to feel at home. We would’ve stayed another two days if other family issues hadn’t come up. Next time we’re in the area, maybe we can stay again for pleasure, rather than because of a bereavement. Best regards, Mr. Vito.

The breakfast is very meager and leaves a lot to be desired. The place is inexpensive and functional, but it’s a remote bed and breakfast, not a hotel, with set check-in times. The furnishings are simple, typically Italian. You need to know what you’re booking.
