I checked out on the same day I arrived. My stay at Astoria Napoli Centrale on April 26, 2026 was nothing like what I booked, and the property felt dirty and unsafe. I paid for a “King Bed, City View,” but was given a room with a Full-sized bed and a window facing a barred back alley, with someone’s underwear hanging in front of it. The room looked clean from a distance, but up close there were shower stains, food crumbs smeared on the walls, cracks, a dirty sink, and grime on every surface. It looked like a quick tidy between guests rather than a proper cleaning, and I’d be surprised if the sheets had even been changed. There was no staff member on site. Check-in was remote, using a code. As soon as I got in, I reported the wrong room type, dirty bathroom, and food on the walls through Expedia’s “Message the hotel” option. The replies looked AI-generated and said the management team was working on getting me the right room, but that didn’t happen. No one followed up for hours, then I got several rude WhatsApp messages from someone claiming to work for the hotel. A person named Danilo, who said he was the “online receptionist,” accused me of lying and demanded photos, even though I’d already sent them through Expedia. When I explained that the room was dirty and not what I’d booked, he said, “Refunded for what sorry?” and “Go complain with hotiday ( I assume a parent company) for a refund not with us.” The whole experience felt like false advertising, with rude people running the place remotely. They took my money, put me in a dirty room facing underwear in an alley, then insulted me for asking for what I paid for. Avoid this place at all costs. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
