B&B De Gasperi 55

The staff were kind and happy to answer our questions, and getting around was easy with transport, including the metro, only a few minutes away. We had a comfortable room that was kept clean each day, just as it looked in the photos. The spacious balcony had a table and chairs, so it was a lovely place to spend time. I’d recommend it if you want things within walking distance. Thanks for looking after us, and I hope to come back soon!

The view was nice, but communication made the stay difficult. I had trouble checking out: I asked to leave my bags because I wasn’t leaving Naples until the afternoon. They first told me to put them in the hallway, which didn’t feel secure, then agreed I could keep them in the room until 13:00. At 10:30, I got a message saying I should already have left and that my bags would be put in the hallway. Messages and instructions were a mess throughout. The setup is basically an office building with one office divided into “hotel” rooms, and staff are only there part of the time. Check-in and checkout seem easiest during staffed hours. I arrived early and used remote check-in, which was confusing because of the language barrier. To find the rooms, go through the lobby past the security desk, take the elevator to the 14th floor, and use the remote lock on the Gasperi 55 door, then another remote lock at your room.

During our 17-day trip, B&B Gasperi was the stay I liked best. We were close to boat outings and the metro, and the sea view was wonderful. The morning breakfast was fantastic, especially the real Napoli coffee, which had me buzzing all day. Virginia and Georgia were such caring hosts to my wife and me. For our 30th wedding anniversary, they gave us a bottle of champagne and a beautifully written congratulatory note. They’re a real credit to the B&B business.

The host was the best, and the view was great. Everything was perfect, with a very clean, well-furnished place. A great spot to visit Napoli!
