B&B Napoli Retrò

The breakfast was the best I've had at a B&B so far, and the owners were incredibly helpful and attentive. The building is old, like the others in Napoli, but the elevator is fun, original, and vintage. It can be noisy, though Napoli is noisy wherever you stay. The shared bathroom could use more frequent cleaning, or guests should be reminded to leave it tidier.

The bathroom smelled like rotten sewers, and the shower barely gave me three drops of warm water before turning cold. It took me 30 minutes to try to wash my hair with that weak trickle. The old, dusty beds made a lot of noise whenever we turned over, and the street was so loud at night that it disturbed our sleep. The furniture was falling apart. We had a terrible argument with the owners, who accused us of breaking a door lock and made us pay hundreds of euros for something we didn't do. Be careful about accusations from the hotel owners. My experience at Napoli Retro was poor, and I expected much more.

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the hosts kept ours neat and gave us good suggestions for places to see. I had some trouble with the WiFi in my room, but it wasn't a major problem. A really good value B&B for a short visit, with a perfect location for exploring Naples. I'd consider Napoli Retro again if I return.

The only drawback was that the bathroom wasn't connected directly to the bedroom, so we had to take keys each time we wanted to unlock the door to our private bathroom. The hosts were friendly and nice, and spoke relatively good English, which wasn't typical of the B&Bs we'd stayed at before in Italy. We had a great stay. The B&B was unlike places we'd seen before, and its interior made it feel like we'd travelled back in time.
