B&B Pontenuovo Bed

Daniela was great at keeping in touch, helping us arrive smoothly and answering questions promptly. The central location also made it easy to visit nearby attractions. The bed, though, wasn’t comfortable: there weren’t many pillow choices, and the mattress felt like it needed flipping. The place was generally clean and felt safe, but some areas smelled stale, with a few odors that reminded me of sweat. Pontenuovo Bed could be more inviting with some attention to those details.

The walk from Napoli Centrale is about 15 minutes, and the street along the way is awful, covered in dog poop, but I guess that’s Napoli. Once you arrive, the rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and clean. Breakfast is included as a croissant and coffee at a nearby cafe, and most of the city’s points of interest are close by. A good option.

We booked a room for August 24 to 25, but this isn’t a hotel, and Booking shouldn’t list it as a four-star hotel. It feels fake. It took a satellite to find the B&B, and the neighborhood was unpleasant. We had to walk through dark alleys. Arriving by car would be a big problem. At last we reached a huge old building with a massive iron door, but nobody was waiting. You have to call an unidentified person to get a code to enter. Inside felt like a horror movie, then we went upstairs to a green door and needed another code. The room itself was fair and clean, but the AC was above the door and never reached the sleeping area. It’s relatively far from the airport, and I’m quite sure a taxi would have trouble finding it. We left for a normal hotel near the airport. We lost the money, but felt it was worth it for our safety. This isn’t a hotel or a normal B&B. Don’t go there.

A roomy, clean bedroom and a good spot for a short trip to Napoli. Breakfast is at a nearby coffee shop, and the location makes it easy to enjoy the city.
