The rooms were basic and quite old, though clean. That was the only positive I found. The AC in our room barely worked and leaked onto the floor. I woke up the first night, slipped in a large puddle, and hit my head on the side of the bed, bruising my head and leg. When I told the woman, she said it was just water from the AC and pointed to a full plastic tank on the balcony. They hadn’t emptied it the day before, so the water had leaked inside. That’s not okay when their neglect caused me to fall and hit my head. The place is old, dingy, overrated, and not worth the money. They didn’t provide anything, not even water, and there was no service at all. Breakfast was in our reservation, but when we arrived they said there was no breakfast. We tried to show the booking, but the two people working there just kept shouting “no breakfast” and neither spoke English. They also insisted on cash for the city tax and refused a credit card, unlike the other hotels we stayed in. In response to the hotel’s reply: 1. You received the full city tax, unless the older woman kept it for herself. We gave you a credit card on the first day, but the person there refused to take it and wanted cash only. The woman at the desk also refused the card and said she’d have to pay it herself if we used one. I stayed at four hotels before yours, and all four accepted the tax by card. 2. Your claim that you checked on me isn’t true. The older woman was the only person I spoke to, and all she said was “it’s okay, it’s okay.” She didn’t check anything beyond coming into the room and seeing the huge puddle. She spoke very little English. I told her exactly what the water had done, but I don’t think she understood all of it. 3. I’m reporting the rest of your lies to Booking because this hotel shouldn’t have three stars when you’re lying to cover yourself. 4. I’d like to know your name. I only dealt with one woman who didn’t speak English, so I doubt she wrote this reply. 5. Don’t blame me for disconnecting the drain pipe. I don’t even know where it is. The whole unit is outside on the balcony, and we didn’t touch it. The woman said it was hot, pointed at the full container, and gestured that they’d forgotten to empty it the day before. Don’t put your mistake on other people. 6. I’m reporting you to the Napoli tourist office to check whether it’s true that Napoli only accepts the tax in cash. Roma, Salerno, Milano, and Sorrento charged it to my card. I left an honest review, and you had to lie. Now you’ve made things worse for yourself and got yourself into more trouble.
