It's a lovely, unusual place in a grand building. Quiet, but right among everything, halfway between the Spanish quarter and Centro Storico. It was comfortable. Just remember it's a three-star place, so don't expect things you'd look for at a four- or five-star hotel.

We stayed in the apartment, which had everything we needed as a great base. The breakfast buffet was brilliant. The building itself is wonderful, dating from the 16th century, with old-fashioned decor and very old paintings on the ceilings, inside and out. It's being renovated at the moment, so the builders were understandably a bit noisy. That's why I gave four stars rather than five.
