Check-out was quick and easy, and the man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning worked really well, and the shower got hot after a few minutes. The common area is nicely styled, the rooms are pleasant, and the price is fair. It’s in a great location and clearly run by good people. The check-in arrangements were confusing, though. They hadn’t told us ahead of time that we’d need WhatsApp to contact someone for entry, so download it if you don’t have it. I’d already given my exact arrival time, but they also wanted a message when we were 30 minutes away. I only found that out once we reached the BnB, and then it took 45 minutes for someone to arrive. Even if I’d sent the message earlier, we’d still have been waiting. If this had been a chain hotel, I’d have given it three stars for that process. As other people have mentioned, there are a lot of stairs, but that’s manageable if you’re not disabled.

The apartment is on the fourth floor and there’s no lift. It has about three bedrooms, with a shared kitchen and terrace, and you need to contact the owner when you arrive or nobody will be there to let you in. It’s not very close to the metro or train links to the city centre or central station. Inside, the place is pretty and well kept, while the building exterior and the historic area are quite shabby. The neighborhood has a lot of character, and there are some interesting museums in the nearby alleys.

The location right in the city centre is fantastic, though there are lots of stairs to climb with luggage. It’s doable, just not ideal. The place wasn’t clean or friendly, the terrace was dirty, and the kitchen couldn’t be used. The owner said they’d clean the kitchen and common rooms for guests, then stopped replying.

Luigi was incredibly accommodating during my short stay. My flight arrived late, and he waited patiently to help me check in. When I needed to check out earlier than planned, he was immediately available too. The room was clean and nice, with all the essentials. I hope to return for longer. b&b Dimora Dei Giganti really goes above and beyond with customer service.

There’s no reception, but someone will be there to welcome you when you arrive. Guests share a common space with a kitchen, living room, and balcony. Breakfast is self-service and decent. It’s a very nice, centrally located place with attractive furnishings.
