Domus Gemi

It's in the middle of Naples' historic district, in a quaint old-world neighborhood. The room is comfortable and clean, and the proprietor is friendly and helpful. There aren't many amenities, and reaching the room means climbing quite a few stairs. It won't suit everyone, but may be just right for some.

The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the old town, and manager Pasquale was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is a pastry and a drink at the little coffee shop across the street. The rooms have old furnishings, there's no complimentary bottled water, and the shower's standing area is only about 2 ft x 2 ft. It's on the fourth floor with no elevator, though you can call ahead and they'll help with luggage. Don't look for a big B&B sign, as it's easy to walk past. Use the street number to find it.

The included breakfast is across the street. Espresso beats the cappuccino, and they let me get hot water for my own tea. I ate in the courtyard and met Pina, a very nice local lady. Pasquale also carried my suitcase up three flights of stairs. The soundproof window makes a big difference, and from it you can see a beautiful church, with no bells at night! The pretty tile floor, comfy beds, and use of a fridge were all nice. Down the street is THE BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD, worth the two-hour wait, though we could've ordered pickup. I'd stay here again!

A cozy little place, clean and comfortable, with a great view and awesome European windows that open onto the street. Naples feels a little shady these days, so keep an eye on your pockets and watch your back!
