We wrapped up a couple's stay at B&B DormidaMè this morning. Mrs. Luisa was incredibly warm and made us feel at home. The accommodations suited us well and were great value. It's right in the center, which made exploring the city on foot easy.

I paid €435 for three nights, and the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is the excellent location. I'd booked for the week of August 15th and said we'd arrive by car with my partner, daughter, and dog. They assured me we'd have a suitable room and parking included in the agreed price. At the parking lot, though, they gave me a receipt and said they knew nothing about an arrangement with the B&B, so I had to pay them directly. The place was in a run-down condominium courtyard, reached by an old elevator. Past two doors were the shared living room and a corridor with no air conditioning. The elderly owner handed over the keys and said air conditioning could only be used if the room had it. The unit was ancient, and without shutters the room became unbearable after we were away for about half an hour. The room was on a mezzanine with a spiral staircase, which felt dangerous with a one-and-a-half-year-old. The poor parquet made every step my dog took sound like a drum solo. Although I paid extra for my daughter and dog, the only extra was a sofa bed that I had to set up myself downstairs. Nobody changed the sheets, towels, or rubbish bags during our four days; by the last day, there were four bags and other rubbish in the room. We didn't make a fuss about breakfast, which was tap water, poor coffee, and discount croissants. After that stay, the owner called to complain that we'd left the room in a 'terrible condition.' The experience was terrible and nowhere near worth the price.

Quick version: the bathroom is right in the room, and there's no bidet. Showering means dealing with a lot of water. Get up early if you want a sfogliatelle, because once they're gone, they're gone. And watch out for that door. Highly recommended.

Mrs. Luisa is so sweet and elegant, and her warm welcome shaped my whole impression in a positive way. The place is close to all the main sights, so you can get everywhere on foot. I honestly can't point to anything negative. I'll be back.
