Grand Hotel Capodimonte

The breakfast was delicious and had lots of different food, and the staff were really nice. The location was convenient, close to a shopping center. Our room looked nice and was somewhat clean, but there were ants all over the floor. They cleaned it twice after we reported the problem, yet ants were still there afterward. They even got onto the walls and into our beds.

The hotel feels worn out, though the staff were lovely and breakfast was good, with hot dishes, breads, fruit, and cheeses. Our room was clean and well serviced despite a few minor faults. It's about a kilometer north of the city center, with local buses making it easy to get around. The museum in Capodimonte and the ancient catacombs next door are among the nearby attractions.

The entrance opens straight onto a fast, busy road, with hardly any sidewalk, so coming and going felt unsafe. Inside, the hotel is old-fashioned and the amenities feel dated. Noise was a constant problem: we could hear neighboring guests as though they were in our room, and traffic came through from the street. The metal bed creaked with the slightest movement, and odd sounds from the cooling system kept waking us at night. In the bathroom, the shower had mold and a broken showerhead that had been poorly patched up. We won't return or recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, restful stay.

We checked in to a messy room with no water, and the staff were extremely rude. It took two months for them to refund the booking, and they handled that rudely as well. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this hotel.
