Macchiato Suites

I loved my stay. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a great balcony, and the area was super clean too. The owner was kind and attentive, bringing us drinks and snacks. I was concerned by the 2 star rating, especially when I first walked in, but don’t let that put you off. We were right by the train station and on the edge of the historic district. The other part of town with lots to see was a 25-35 minute walk away. We were fine walking, though at this price you could take a taxi and still save money. Definitely recommend.

We only had one and a half days in Napoli, at the end of our trip, and wish we’d left ourselves more time. We’ve promised to come back. This stay made our time there feel special, and we’d absolutely recommend the B&B. Luca heard we planned to take the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii early on our second morning, so he insisted we stop by Café Nayman for coffee and something to eat. He’d planned to serve breakfast in our room, as shown in the website photos, but we loved the cornetti and cappuccino from the café. The staff there were just as kind and welcoming. The B&B felt cosy and comfortable, like being at home. Our spacious room had everything we expected from a B&B or hotel. There’s a beautifully decorated corridor in a classic Italian style, with local travel booklets and brochures, and a large shared space where you can sit and relax. The suites are on the first floor of a building from 1909, a sign Luca showed me. The lift costs 20 cents. When we arrived with our luggage, Luca had already set aside a coin for us, and pointed out a plate full of more 20-cent coins to use whenever we needed the lift. That’s how thoughtful he and Elena, his girlfriend, are. They run the B&B, and we met them at check-in at Café Nayman across the road. They were among the warmest people we met in Italy, and you could tell they wanted their guests to have a wonderful stay. The room was cosy and comfortable, the location was convenient for Napoli Centrale and public transport, and L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele was within walking distance. Both my partner and I loved our stay, and the host was incredibly kind and welcoming from the start.

As an American visiting Naples for the first time, I loved staying here. It felt safe, the rooms were clean and beautiful, and the location was incredible. The hotel manager also runs Nayman Cafe and was great at communicating before we arrived. He greeted us, kept our bags somewhere safe while we waited for the room, and treated us to complimentary coffee and pastries. He showed us to the room and carried my bag. Such a lovely person and an amazing host.

After the bustle of Naples, it was lovely to return to the peace and quiet of the Macchiato Suite. Our room was large, airy, and very quiet, with a big bathroom and a great shower. Breakfast came to the room, with a great choice of food. The room was beautiful too. The location worked well, just 5 minutes from the Old Quarter and 5 minutes from the train station. Great breakfast, and we highly recommend it to anyone staying in Naples. Thank you, Gianluca. x
