The building is a charming piece of history, and the unit has been renovated, but it comes with a lot of limitations. There was a very bad septic smell, barely any closet space, and a lot of noise. Not a romantic place.

The location was hard to find. There was no hotel sign, and the entrance was locked, so check-in was difficult. There’s no reception; they contacted us through WhatsApp. The shower door was broken, and the AC didn’t work all night. Nobody replied on WhatsApp until the next day. The room was clean, and the location is excellent and safe, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

We booked four rooms. One smelled awful, almost like rats, and the AC wasn’t working in the other three. We complained on WhatsApp during the stay, and although they said they’d compensate us, nothing was done to improve things. The complimentary breakfast from Bar Brisialano was questionable too. Apart from the view from the rooms, don’t expect much. The customer service was very bad, and the rooms weren’t the cleanest. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The host sent me the self check-in details on the day and checked in with me. Finding the entrance took a little while, since it’s inside the mall at the large intersection and marked only with the number 50, with no hotel name. Once I found it, the process was fairly easy. There were lots of people around even at night, which made it feel safe, and getting to transport was convenient. Plenty of places to eat nearby too.

There are only five rooms, tucked into one of the wings of Galleria Umberto I, so it feels very private. The location is excellent, with lots of attractions within walking distance, and the area felt safe. After online check-in, you can access the property using codes, so there’s basically no contact needed. The host was quick and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!
