Napoli Chiaia 32 Deluxe Residence

The location is in a fun, very walkable area, and Fabio was pleasant when he checked us in. Leaving the keys in the morning made check-out easy, and the bed had GREAT pillows. Still, I can’t recommend this B&B. We booked through its official website a few weeks ahead for one night before an early flight, but couldn’t find clear check-in information. We only sent our arrival time a few hours before getting there, and because the front desk isn’t regularly staffed, nobody was there to meet us. We waited 20 minutes. It wasn’t a huge deal, but worth knowing before you book. The amenities weren’t great. The mini fridge never got cold, the partly broken shower leaked into the main room, and partial walls between the shower and toilet stalls meant very little privacy with another person in the room. There was only a sheet on the bed, no blanket. We didn’t realize until late, and didn’t want to message the host and stay up waiting for one. The room’s only window opened onto the indoor stairwell and elevator shaft, so there was no natural light. A few good points, but in my opinion, not worth the cost.

Federica and her team were so kind and helpful, and even brought a bottle of spumante to our room for my boyfriend’s birthday. We had a great stay and would come back, absolutely recommend it. The location made it easy to get around Naples. The rooms were large, spacious, and clean, with the luxury of a 4 star hotel and the convenience of a full kitchenette. The beds were super comfortable, and the large bathroom had both a bath and shower. One of the best Hotels I’ve stayed in in Naples.

The location was the only good thing. My whole stay left me cranky because I couldn’t sleep properly, and I’d definitely stay away. I honestly don’t understand the high reviews. The bed wasn’t comfortable, and noise came through the paper-thin walls for 12 hours a day, from very early morning until noon. The cleaning ladies didn’t speak English and kept knocking on our door every 30 minutes all morning, even after we said we didn’t want cleaning. Breakfast was beyond disappointing: the orange juice glass was half full, as if someone had drunk from it, and the juice tasted different every day. Sometimes it was fresh, other times it seemed they’d run out, put in a little juice, then water. The elevator broke on our second day, and they didn’t bother calling anyone to fix it all week. There was no air in the room and no window to open; the one window faced the stairway, where all the noise came from. Shower water was either not hot at all or kept changing from hot to cold and back.

The staff were nice, and the hotel is in a very strategic spot by plaza del plebiscito. The rooms were nice and breakfast was good, but there’s no elevator and it’s on the second floor. The shower was broken, and there was a moldy smell at the reception desk.
