The breakfast listing showed a cooked-to-order meal and photos of trays delivered to rooms, but that wasn’t what we got. It was a voucher for a coffee and croissant at a cafe down the street. The place was also previously listed and accepting bookings as a “hot springs hotel,” though it’s nothing like that. It’s four separate bedrooms along a short hallway in a shared apartment building, reached through an alley and security gate. There’s no lift to the first floor, and the listing, including Expedia, didn’t mention the extra fee for checking in after 8pm. They wanted cash or payment through a WhatsApp link, which felt like a red flag. The building and rooms were shabby and didn’t feel safe. Noise came through the walls and ceilings, including voices and footsteps overhead. The inside doors had no locks, so people could come in from outside. Our sheets had holes and the bedding was stained, and there was no bathroom soap. The owner was aggressive and kept harassing customers for hours, threatening police and lawyers, even after saying a booking could be cancelled without a penalty. It was incredibly unprofessional. Since people complained, the owner has changed the listings and argued with those who raised concerns or pointed out inaccuracies.
