Hotel New Sayonara

The staff, including Tina and Greta, really tried to help, and the breakfast itself was okay. That's the only positive I can think of. The photos are misleading, so don't trust them. Our double room was the smallest I've ever stayed in, about the size of a closet, and it smelled bad. The stairway to the rooms on the third floor was unbelievable. There's no reception after 20:00, which felt awkward because the area seemed dangerous and nobody was there. Breakfast starts at 8:00 am, too late if you have a morning sightseeing tour, and no one speaks English. It's frustrating to see this in a city with so many tourists near the central station. It's a pity, given how beautiful the city is. I'd stay somewhere else.

A crack in the wall facing the courtyard made it feel like the room had an unfinished wall, which I hadn't expected from a hotel. The room was small and smelled a little like a wonderbaum. They tried to charge me twice for the tourist tax. Breakfast was okay.

The only good thing was the kebab shop downstairs, with a nice, proper big kebab for 4. I won't stay here again, even if it were free. The room was old, cramped and full of mosquitoes, and the bed and pillow were uncomfortable. I paid over 600 euro for three nights at a place with no stars, in what felt like a sketchy area. The toilet seat kept falling down, and nobody came to fix it after we'd reported it to reception that morning. I should have booked hotel hsp in the same building, which is a bit more renovated and has a receptionist who works. The city around it was covered in trash and graffiti.

We only took a quick look and decided against it. The rooms didn't seem modern, and the place looked a bit dirty and neglected. The location was good, but there are better places to book.
