Re Carlo

It's close to Napoli Centrale and the metro, and I felt safe there. The neighborhood looked dirty and rough to me, with many people who weren't Italian. The lift is old, though it has a bit of nostalgia to it. There was no one at reception if you needed something, and I woke up with puffy eyes every day, maybe because the covers weren't good. This was called a bed and breakfast, but there was no breakfast. One night cost 70€, which felt expensive for a room like this.

The service was terrible, though I had no complaints about the room itself. The shower door was broken and the drain was a little clogged. The remote had been put together with clear tape and only worked sometimes. The coffee machines were switched off, so for coffee you had to go down to the bar, where they gave you toilet paper.

The owner was very kind and always reachable by phone. The rooms were clean, the hot water was really hot, and despite being on Piazza Garibaldi it wasn't noisy. It's especially handy if you're arriving by train. My only issue was a horrible smell in the hallway, possibly from the bags of dirty laundry.
