We stayed a few extra days and had no problems at the hotel. It was nice, but the neighborhood scared me, and we were robbed just a block away. I still remember a kind family who helped us find our way back when we got lost and offered us coffee. It reminded me of how people in Montevideo used to put chairs and tables outside and spend evenings talking with neighbors. Watch out for taxis, too, since they seem to charge whatever they like. That family called a driver they knew, who charged us 15 euros for 25 kilometers. The first taxi had charged the same for just six blocks. Be careful!

Unbelievable! We arrived from Verona at 1:15 PM and found that our room had been given to someone else. They offered us a smaller room with a double bed shoved against the wall because it wouldn’t otherwise fit. They said the reason was that they couldn’t charge my card, although the money had always been available. They’d only tried once, two days after confirming the booking, on September 4th. Then they didn’t contact me for a month and a half to tell me. There was clearly some mix-up, but they never tried again or let me know. The day before we left, they called to confirm and simply said to pay cash when we arrived.

The suite itself was clean and tidy, with air conditioning and a mini-fridge. But the way you get in was never explained when we booked online. The building entrance was old and dirty, with about ten steps up to the first floor, not easy with four suitcases. There was a very narrow elevator, then we went to the third floor and met a friendly, helpful employee. He explained that this apartment contained the bedrooms and bathrooms, and that we had to open and close its doors ourselves. We also had the keys to the main entrance. That first night, around 11 pm, our key got stuck as we tried to get into the apartment. We had no phone number for anyone, rang the bell, and got no answer. After half an hour of struggling, the key finally turned and we got in. Being close to Naples Central Station was convenient, but it also means the area feels dangerous, unsafe, and extremely dirty.

It’s handy for the city center and close to the train station. The place isn’t new, but it’s kept in very good shape, and they pay attention to cleanliness. People were courteous and friendly. Worth a try.
