Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choices, and the restaurant’s beautiful view made it even more enjoyable. It’s on the rooftop, where the sea views and scenery create a relaxing atmosphere. The location is close to the shopping area, Maradona and Duomo, all about a five-minute walk away. The room is compact but comfortable. The bathroom works fine, though it isn’t luxurious, and the price felt a bit high.

An okay hotel in a good spot. The rooftop breakfast lounge has great views, but one small thing baffled me enough to bring the rating down to three stars. They provide complimentary water only on arrival and never refill it. I travel for work most of the time and haven’t come across that before. It’s embarrassing. I checked with the staff, and that really is their rule.

This was the priciest hotel of our Italy trip, but the least worthwhile. We paid over €900 for three days, and I wouldn’t choose it again. We stayed at a Mercure hotel several years ago, and it was definitely better. I’ve never stayed at a Marriott group hotel that gave just one bottle of water for the whole visit, no matter how many days you’re there. That seems unthinkable. The front desk just said, yes, it’s one bottle on the first day. I’d seen other reviews mentioning the same thing, but nobody at reception told me there’s a water station in the lobby. It was confusing. Is this some secret station you can only discover after checking out and leaving negative feedback? Breakfast was confusing too. Even guests with full breakfast included couldn’t order egg dishes without paying extra. That kind of odd setup is something I’d expect in the USA, not Italy. Italy’s a foodie country, so why charge extra for eggs at a full-service hotel?

The breakfast views were lovely, and I’m already missing them. We also spent a couple of evenings on the restaurant terrace watching beautiful sunsets. The buffet was great, and the location suited us well: central to the things we wanted to do and within walking distance of the port, where many of our day tours started. The front desk arranged early taxis to the bus station for our trip home. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful throughout our stay. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and the elevators worked efficiently. I’m a bit puzzled by the negative experiences others have described. We had a great time and would all gladly return.
