Luxor Hotel

The biggest hassle at check-in was a power outage. After a long travel day, we had to wait outside the entrance for about 30 minutes. The shuttle price was another problem: one front desk staff member quoted $40 for four people, then the next person on shift changed it to $50 and wouldn’t honor the first quote. With an early flight and no other way to get there, we had to accept it. We’d booked two rooms for one night. They were average at best, with little comfort or in-room amenities. The hotel felt isolated, the neighborhood didn’t seem particularly safe or welcoming, and we couldn’t find any nearby places to eat. This was a disappointing stay. I hope they improve how they communicate with guests and the service they provide.

Breakfast fell below the bare minimum: not many options, and even the cappuccino was cold. In the bathroom, the sink water was yellow, the tub was dirty and had a hair in it, and the handheld shower didn’t give enough water. The hot water ran out quickly too. I’d rate this as a 1- or 2-star hotel, not 3.

It’s in a good spot close to the airport, but this feels like an airport hotel that’s trying to meet 3-star standards. My room had dirty vents, so I didn’t even turn on the AC, and the shower was filthy. I wouldn’t have wanted to stand in it barefoot.

The staff were rude, and the shower wouldn’t drain. When I tripped and accidentally hit the door, he accused me of “breaking his door” instead of asking if I was okay. The room was disgusting. If you can, sleep on the street rather than here.
